Here's probably one of the first of many status effect posts, but looking at the list posted on the update I have, well, a few suggestions...
1. That Silence be split into two sister abilities. One for physical abilities, and one for magic abilities. Maybe when a character is invested into whatever gives him access to status effects the present Silence could be acquired, but with just the one spell it seems really overpowered, and something that would dominate things like PvP.
2. That there would be some kind of ability to reduce a player's field of vision. I can't think of much use for this ability outside of PvP, but in PvP this has the potential to be a really handy one. It'd probably be really weird for Blind to be named what it is with this ability around, though. So a name change for Blind?
3. The equivalent of Slow, but for attack speed. Pretty basic idea.
5. The equivalent of Root, but for attacking. Sounds actually more powerful, so maybe duration reduced?
6. If elemental damage is incorporated that each traditional one be given a status effect. Like lightning weapons have a chance for Stun, frost weapons have a chance for Slow, etc. The two examples I gave are actually pretty unbalanced if they both have equal chances, but the gist of it is what I'm suggesting. With varying levels of damage bonus the chances of inflicting the status effects could increase as well.
