I have said this before somewhere else around here but I like the idea that rare/discontinued items come back, but with a version number. This allows for rare items to exist (lower version numbers would be more rare) while still allowing others to get them for the style. Some people might pick a few items and try to get every version number or some people might try to get v1 of all items. I see nothing wrong with hoarding. If you all saw my bank in FO you would have been proud to see all the crap I collected over the years. Most knew I had so many rare items simply because it was fun to show them off every once in a while. I think the problem FO had was that people demanded too much content and Gamer tried to satisfy. Making everything in game rare eventually. People knew this and so when something cool came out, everyone bought to hoard and sell later watering down the market. Seriously? Most game adminstrators make games very pay to win, i'm glad you're not thinking greedy, but i think you should at least win some profit from your hard work, not to the point of making the games looking at the money of EVERYONE.

it would be cool if when you bought it, each item has another number that show what number it was bought as. EX: the rarest item would be Alpha Halo #1
so when they return the numbers will be higher

Then, tell us you wanted to make it simpler by resuming it in little lines. So you could've avoided my post the one you just did, and this one...

I think panda was saying something different, namely having each item having an item number. So if you were the first top by the v1 halo, you would have halo v1 #1. 30th person would have halo v1 #30. You could of course have numbered items without having version numbers. I don't think it's a great idea however. People who could get online right after updates would be at a huge advantage. I just feel that it would be messy. (Kongregate has a new type of award called a Kongpanion that is numbered, which causes people to spam refresh at midnight PST... Certain parts of the world have the advantage of being awake ) I loved merching in FO, but I do think there was a problem with people getting ridiculously rich, and others not being able to get a single uber rare item. I saw a lot of complaints near the end of FO of people being dispirited about not being able to get anything rare. I wouldn't like to see rare, limited editions go away entirely, so I think re-releases and version numbers are a good compromise.

Yea, I was talking about version number, not the numbered item released. However I think in the other thread I also mentioned that maybe there might be some limited edition items that exist. Like only 100 of a particular item will be sold. However, they would be clearly marked as such and they might still be released later, just limited (and possibly numbered) in the v1 run. Subsequent runs also might have a slight difference.

Even if there were limited amount of space in your bank, there would still be hoarding. That would make people use alts and put all of the items on them. In FO the problem with hoarding was the fact that EVERY single item was basically discontinued. If you want to limit hoarding, just make every item more consistent throughout the game.
