So, I was playing this game called Rift again, and was thinking about something similar for LQ if possible. Since you all liked to collect stuff (so do I), such system will please you. You also get to be rewarded for your efforts! There could be also a new job perhaps? Like treasure hunter, or archeologist and you could've to use tools such as a shovel in order to find them or simply find more if it's open to those who didn't pick that job. I found a page that contains what you need to know about it, with images.

Seems like it could be pretty enjoyable if setup correctly.
I don't think it should be common enough to merit its own unique skill/ability set, though. Reading through the page it seems like the reason it's well received is because it's so rare; making it 'mineable' makes it more common and feel a little more grindy, even if drop rates would be extremely low. I think that the most a player should be able to do with this type of thing is to maybe have an overall 'luck' ability set to gradually improve drop rates and such, relics being in the upper echelons of the tree.

Or it would be nice to have a hard cap on your "unluckiness", so after grinding for a sufficiently long time you could be guaranteed the item/drop/ whatever.

I was just suggesting a special job just for it or to get more artifacts than those who didn't took it. (Meaning it's something everyone can do, but if you take treasure hunter/archeologist job, you get to do like normal people AND dig out treasures.)

I like the idea of the artifact system. Would be a cool way to offer a bonus for completing a set in a new area. I'm not sure about having a job specifically for just this, especially if they can be sold on the market. If you have a job dedicated to finding items that could potentially sell for a lot of money, then 1) it will become unbalanced with that job being able to amass large amounts of money really quickly and then that leads to 2) everyone will just pick that job simply because it can make quick money. Meaning that artifacts will become more common, market will flood, prices will drop and it then becomes un-rare and relatively easy to accomplish which diminishes the value of any reward won. And I could see it being useful for some cool rewards. Maybe something like +%xp in an area or +def/atk against a particular type of monster.

Ok, I see, it's up to you if you plan something like this anyway! But I get that market flood and stuff is not that good, so no job should be better. I was just suggesting!

And keep on suggesting. The final product will end up being a combination of all these ideas that everyone is coming up with. Regardless if we shoot it down at first, later we might find where it may fit in as a niche item that turns out pretty fun. Most of this stuff will probably get implemented at some point. Even if just test it and make a decision later. Never know, might end up liking it.
