I personally would love to see More customization then before so my ideas are below

Custom stuff is neat, but take into account that it is much harder to code for, and will probably come farther down the line, if at all.
Also, the sprites in the new game will be much more detailed and complex, making it harder for user-created content to enter the game!
Customizing your own character's appearance (based on options given by the game) should be doable, and wanted by many people, so I wouldn't be surprised to see that relatively early.

We'll try to do everything to ensure customization as that was one of FO main attraction. As for user-created content. The art style will be more complex as we've said before, but I think it's still possible. As part of alpha/beta testing I think we'll also release the base sprite so people can get familiar with the sprites and see if players are able to get something made that meets our standard. Though implantation of user-created content might come later as our main focus is creating a solid game first and foremost.

I think that there should be a much tighter review process so we don't have sub-par content as we did previously. The ability for players to submit and have their own content in the game is probably one of the most important features that sets this game apart and also helps brings the community together as having a shared ownership. "My friend and I made this sword," is a great way to advertise.

Once we have the base set and spritesheet layout done we will be able to tell whether we will allow custom content. But be assured that we know how important this topic is. Most people who started playing FO did so during some sort of promotion but when you look at those that stayed, one of the biggest reasons is that they could create their own content or even have someone else make something that they had an idea for.

I want a custom buff to make enemies harder with a chance to drop rarer loot that scales based on your level. That way there's never a max level.
Or maybe just a monster machine that takes rare drops to fuel it that allows you and your friends to go into boss fights in your own little gladiator instance. If you die, you get kicked out and lose all the rare items going in. If you win, you collect the loot of course.
