Considering that the game you will be able to have different classes , I believe drops could be armor itself or craft items used to make that armor, or any item with required crafting. Essentially armor isn't just craftable or tiered such as FO. This class system has been used in many games, and by having it where you may loot your gear could work out. This way if you pick something up that isn't for one class, you could always throw it in your bank and give it to another class that may need it. Instead of tiered gear, as mentioned before, it would be based on level. Just throwing ideas out there

Just throwing ideas out there i like your reasoning but i disagree, i like tiered armor because after you get better armor, all you can do is junk it, or donate it(unless there is a player market to sell your old and used items). If the armor is tiered, then you can reused it and it will be useful for a longer period of time.

If the armor is tiered, then you can reused it and it will be useful for a longer period of time. There would obviously be a market in which you could do so. But then there comes the crafting. Why craft when you can have gear with set stats as a drop. FO you were allowed to switch stats and were only allowed that one character, but you also had to make new gear and whatnot if you wanted to change that class. By having gear dropped, it would be for any class, not just your own. Gives more variety to the game as well.

Oh, btw, hope the +bonus on every item won't be static like in FO. Ok, perhaps for common items, or uniques, but have a little variety, even enchantments! Like, the 1st craftable gear set body armor for a warrior could be 2 to 5 strength, 2 to 5 stamina and 100 to 400 armor. Then you could apply some rare gems or artifacts onto it to get more stats, or just have a consumable that can "reforge" the item so you can have the 5, 5 400 stats without recrafting many of the same item. (like in PoE with chaos orb or such )

I like the idea of full set bonuses. I think it would be cool if certain sets offered different things. Maybe some sets could offer a special skill only obtainable by getting that full set. I also think that all tier items should be tied to their respective classes.

another thing FO left off was the addition of a bonus to a complete armor set. ex: +100 attack per additional armor piece of this set

I always liked the idea of weapons having a chance to add a curse or debuff to an enemy.

All I want is some skill that I can do with friends that takes few clicks so I can have my hands on the keyboard typing more often than clicking new things.
Example: There's a river that runs through the center of a popular town and you can sit by the bridge, cast your line and wait for a few minutes until you get a bite, which your character will immediately reel in for you so you can focus on talking with friends.
Maybe make it much faster to catch fish if your character has bait in the inventory. Maybe make the character automatically recast the rod out after reeling in fish. Make fish worthless/not very good/bait dependent so that you can't just AFK good stuff. Maybe make fishing a sort of lottery game, where you might find oysters with pearls for crafting, pull up sunken treasure, boots, etc...
Of course, it doesn't have to be fishing; all I want is something that gives some marginal benefit to hanging around chatting with friends, possibly while I multitask and surf the web.

It's more of an endgame / taking a break content rather than the main point of the game. However I know a lot of people who can speed through content and then end up with nothing to do but stand around. At least if there's something that can be done that's sort of endless, fun, and easy to talk with people it will keep me around and interested.

I think there needs to be a distinction here though that AFK in your case means not AFK but socializing. IMO there still needs to be some sort of interaction with the game to allow for the server to know you are still around. Chatting should be fine. But to let someone just leave the game open overnight while they sleep shouldn't be allowed.

But to let someone just leave the game open overnight while they sleep shouldn't be allowed. Usual logout timer set at about 2 minutes to allow people to walk away for a second but still be online. The short timer assures nobody will just go watch TV and leave their character autoplay. Any sent packets (beyond "check-up" packets) refreshes the timer?

I'm not sure what resets the timer. It is built in to the server software. I haven't gotten that far yet.

Craftable PvP gear might be nice, utilize the crafting more. Of course I support the "mine items and craft up" scenario to. I think just having a more logical order of progression in items and crafting might be nice. (Iron, Steel, Gold, Diamond, or something along those lines. Also think there should be craftable items that like, Mega Intellect Potion: "Add +30 to intellect for 10 seconds" or something. Or a temporary boost of speed or something. Just a thought.

One thing from FO that I thought was really cool was the armor made from video game characters, such as the tunic of link. I had that for a while, as I am a huge Zelda fan, then noticed that it was renamed, which I didn't like, but I guess I was fine with it. Then later the whole pixelation was changed, and it had nothing to do with the original idea, so I just sold it. Anyway, my point is that I liked the video game characters' armor and clothes. Would like more of that. I also didn't expect this would be taken out, but I really loved the ability to craft your own armor, that was very enjoyable to me. Hope FO Legacy makes a huge comeback. Good luck guys! Also is it possible to be one of the creators of an item or weapon? I noticed that most items said that they were created by someone in the game. Any chance I could get in on that?
