- What is going on?
[li]Is this really going to happen?[/li]
Does boshed like crabs?
[li]Can I join the team/who will be the modertaor?[/li]
Currently the project is limited to the staff from FO. We are all an experienced team building areas/mobs/items/quests...etc for FO. I think we can handle it. I will say though that if anyone is added to the team, the first person we would take is someone who is helpful and active in the forums.
[li]When will it be finished?[/li]
Estimated time is roughly 6-8 months of development (we are writing this from scratch) before a alpha/beta phase.
[li]Can I be a alpha/beta/charlie/delta...etc tester?[/li]
We are a ways off from a playable demo. There will likely be a thread/signup when testers are needed. "Dibs" is not an official sign up, no matter how early.

- Are there really going to be llamas in this game?
Maybe one or two as a joke.
- I would like to donate. Where can I do that?
- Will people that donate get anything later on when the game is finished?
[/ul]
- Will player art get to go ingame like in FO or am I getting ahead of myself?
This has been mentioned in another thread.
Player art is currently being discussed but there hasn't been a decision made yet, things like the sprite sheets and general style need nailed down first in any case, but then also a way to ensure that if player art is used, the game style doesn't become mixed.

- Is this game going to be downloadable?
Ideally both download and play in browser. Unity offers both. They should both be exactly the same. The only difference might be performance or maybe a promo running for a site. So one isn't actually better than the other.
- Are you guys using ps3k for the sprites and stuff like in FO? I'm just curious as to how much this game will look and feel like FO.
I just feel like everything in FO was so tiny...
I'm still using good old ps3k as I'm most familiar with that program. The custom edit allows me to test different sizes. I am using other programs too though, like PS.
- How will the battles be? FF turn based battles, FO like, A-RPG?
Most likely similar to FO. We haven't gotten that far yet. It is hard to say what will be fun until we have a demo that we can test stuff.
- Will a drop function be added to items to allow for items to be left on the ground? I am asking this with the idea of drop parties in mind.
Honestly I doubt there will be dropping on the ground. It becomes a problem for the server quickly when you have just a few people trying to drop a bunch of stuff. The server has so much to do already, it is just easier to leave stuff like this out considering it is mostly cosmetic.
- I know Unity has its own Web Player, but I think you need to download that as well. Are you going to make it a downloadable game or have it run on the browser like FO and Serenia did, or make us use Unity Web Player?
Yes, the unity web player does have a download, but it generally gets installed like a plugin like flash is. Flash still requires a downloaded plugin, difference is that it is included with most browsers.
- Will it be cross platform and what operating system will it be on?
There will be a download client and a browser playable version that uses the Unity webplayer. Eventually I would like to move into mobile as well because Unity does support that.
Windows and mac are supported by Unity out of the box. Linux support is sketchy, but as a fan of Linux, I'll do my best to get it to work. Will it be cross platform and what operating system will it be on?

- Will movement be point-and-click or WASD/Arrow Keys? Or something else?
Point and click, but with path-finding to walk around collision areas.
- Will there be stat points such as STR, AGI, INT, CON, received each level up?
As of now we will be trying to use just the skills, but we might add more later.
- Any news on how the combat system will work?
We have a vague idea of how we want it to work, but it rarely ends up that way. It is very likely we will go through a few iterations before we decide on which is the most fun. As time gets closer there will be something said.
- Will we be seeing Rebirth and Ascension in the new game(that is not a fo remake)? We are really focusing on story, so having to replay the same section of story over and over doesn't sound like fun. Maybe it is, I don't know. It is something that might be added later if people want it and we have a point that makes sense to reset in the story. So maybe as part of the story.
- What kind of bonuses will be received from equipping armors? Like stats only? Armor and stats? Something else?
Until we have equips and know what stats are even going to be available, it will likely be only armor or something like +atk/+defense.- Will there be transportation or teleportation between maps, other than walking everywhere?
I like maps that have you walk places, at least once. Teleporting is available, but I still haven't decided how it will be used. We could go with just an NPC to do it, the traditional "home stone", even make it a skill.- Apparently, because of the different shapes of the female and male sprite, would I not be able to wear/equip female clothes if my sprite is a guy and vice versa?
Currently the idea is there will be some specific female and male outfits to give a bit of uniqueness to the gender. Most items however will probably have a male and female version. Gender specific items will have a gender sign (m)/(f) and can only be worn by corresponding gender. (only one sprite needs to be made)
Interchangeable items (e.g. t-shirt or armor) will not be gender specific. They have small adjustments to match the male or female base sprites. Depending on which base sprite you equip it corresponding sprite will be viewed. (two sprites will need to be made)- What weapons are going to show up in the game?
It's too soon atm. Most likely they will be the typical fantasy weapons. Swords, bows and magic with a few in between weapons like mace or dagger.- Will attack animations correspond with their weapons?
Keep in mind we aren't using 3d models, we can't model the sprite to do whatever we want. Our plan right now is to have 3 different attack animations, one casting, one ranged and one melee. As said before there will be most likely three basic attack animation that serve all the different kinds of attack animations. That would mean you'd need to make these animations for any piece of outfit you create.
We're not that far in development of the attack animations. Once we have them we can see if these three different attack animations are enough in the sense that they would fit a lot of different weapons.- Will the game only be on a main site or will it move to Kongregate and the like?
At first it will be directly through our website and I'll add it to other sites shortly after. I'm trying to focus a little bit on the main part of the game instead of implementing their APIs. There will also be a download version eventually and I expect that to be more popular.- Does LlamaQuest plan on having a similar or the same soundtrack as The old Fantasy online?
Anything from FO is copyright. So stuff like the music from FO will not be in this game. Each area should have a theme, we'll see though because it all adds up. Music should be themed by atmosphere, not area.
- Will there be premium currency to regular currency trades like gem notes were on market? What will packs of premium currency include?
I don't know if we'll do it via notes like in FO, or maybe something like how Spiral Knights does it with an npc that you can buy and sell the currency at, or something completely different; it's something we need to talk about a bit more once we get to that point. We are trying to make packs have kinds of stuff be cosmetic only (or really mostly). Personally would rather not have the best items in game be pay only. Perhaps have stats as stuff that might be hard to get in game.
- Will this be free to play or will there be a fee of sorts?
It will follow the same model as FO. Free to play with pay for (mostly) cosmetic items.
- How will money be displayed?
I prefer to keep the currency simple with just a single number. I can expand it later on the backside and store 2 fields to make it exponential if necessary. Either that or just change the number base. There is cap of 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 lol.
- Will we be able to upload screenshots to imgur like fo?
I'll probably add something eventually. Should be an easy thing to do. Some links will be clickable, not all. That is really just to help prevent spammers. I might have to limit it to just screenshot links.
- I donated but didn't get changed to donater status.
We have to verify and add you to the supporter group manually so it might take a day or two to get updated.
- What are the system requirements to play the game?
The requirements won't be known until we have a playable release. I'm trying my best to make it perform as well as possible. I do have unity 4.3 and an upgrade to 5 when it comes out. 4.3 linux support is kinda meh. Once we have the game far enough that I have some time ill probably look into what needs to be done to port it.

More to come as questions are asked.
