@bro Yeah I agree, I loved the items they had in gem packs as they would change monthly and come out with better gear as to still encourage purchases. So basically you could just do a one time purchase each month if you wanted the new extra premium items.

Yea, but there is a ceiling with that. You can't just keep coming out with better and better stuff every month or you end up with much better stuff than exists in game to kill. The game becomes too easy unless you also come out with new content on an almost monthly basis.

There's probably ways around that. Either do it every 3 months/6 months, or have a set of uber items that will be the same forever, so it just helps newcomers that want to buy premium currency right at the start.
(Pretty much like the 4 starter shops we had in Noob Island in FO.)

The problem with purchasable gear is that it increases money and power creep immensely as seen in FO. If anything we want to try and find a way to generate revenues without turning to these old habits of slapping a bigger better weapon/item on sale every other week/month/etc.. So most likely all things will be cosmetic.

Having items in the actual packs packs be cosmetic doesn't mean there can't be ways in-game to trade premium currency for powerful weapons with whatever slight benefits over normal weapons.
Maybe it would be the same power-level as the other top-level game weapons but with a lower level requirement. Things that would mean it is easier to catch up with the players that have played for longer without paying, if that's what you want to go for.
etc etc

Actually you could keep coming out with new items each month or every 2 months as long as you know how much to increase the items by a small percent such as 1 or 2. People don't buy gem packs for items that change their look, they buy them to support the game, get stuff they want that has a function or use. I guess this is just how I see it as a buyer, I'd rather be in rags and have good stats, than look like a majestic angel with beautiful wings that don't increase my stats at all. The premium items don't have to be overpowered, that's all up to you.

Well, like I said though, as long as the item is a shortcut, not an overpower, I don't mind. Similar items should be available in game. Giving people who want to pay the option to get an item that might be hard to complete in game.

I liked the way gems worked in FO, kinda set the standard for the currency of all othe items in the game. It was nice, controlled the market.

Thanks for the replies everyone, nice to see how active the community is around here. Hahaha the first post I really didn't understand but it's all good.
As someone whos played FO for more then a couple years and has never spent a dime on it, I'd actually like to see weapons/armor/GemStoneSlotUpgradeBuffUowerUpThings purchasable only with premium currency, as long as there is a way to obtain it without paying premium currency. FO had gone way to far in the pay-to-win direction that sometimes made it hard to enjoy, but as the game was going down I had had my hands on 50 million coins at the end and with that I could obtain some serious premium currency. Introducing some premium items that are not too overpowered would probably greatly improve buys and would not bother non-spenders like me.
