dunno how toggleable filter would help anyone. it's harder to implement and dunno how it would be used. Maybe just something to disable the warnings, like if you use a bad word you get a warning, something like 'LQ is 13+ game so you can get reported and kicked/banned for using such words' and it could maybe have an option 'okay i understand, dont warn me anymore'. but if there were proper warnings and tooltips or something on how to report players I think it would be okay. reporting someone would probably just be done with right clicking the name and choosing an option to report (and maybe sending last couple of chat lines to moderators in notification/game PM), simple as that. and also option to ignore.

That is pretty much what I was thinking minche. The filter will not be toggle'able. I'll just say that right now. It's not hard to put in, but it is a waste of time considering what else there is left to program. And that is exactly how I was thinking the report should work. Right click on a name/chat and click report. Simple, easy.

I was playing ROBLOX(when I was a kid[when it was cool]) and there was no filter, and everybody complains that the report button is doing nothing, and that's why everyone hates it. But I think the mods/admins must be more strict and this way should work pefectly in our game.

From my experience, Roblox is played by mostly children and they tend to flame and curse immaturely; Thus taking advantage of the lack of a profanity filter. FO² will be more community-driven, which means less flamers and more effective reports since (I assume) we will have quite a bunch of volunteer moderators willing to take the time to review reports.
Too bad you won't be making the filter toggle-able, iamallama. I truly don't see a downside to it since people who don't want to see naughty words can just turn it off and see stars instead. Matter of fact, should you add it, the filter should be turned on by default and people have to go into options/settings to turn it off if they want to see profanity.

I like the report feature that you suggested llama... And I am glad that the chat filter wont be toggle-able... I'm not sure about the rest of you guys but I don't call my friends up and tell them " I have had the ******* day in my whole 8****** life" or anything like that..
The Staff here will keep an eye on the reports.. This will be a great game (even without the option to swear) and as someone else suggested you can take that kind of talk to another chat (FB, Skype, etc)

Will the sharing personal information be as strict as is was in FO. I think it was a good idea to keep people from asking you about you personal life all the time.

Still, I don't see why toggle-able filter is bad?...
Alot of other MMOs have options like that.
You let it normal, you see stars instead of bad words. No problem here. You toggle it, you see everything, but it's your choice anyway, and if it annoys you, you can just get back to filter again.

the thing with sharing personal information is that the company and game will most likely be registered in USA, which has some really strange laws regarding kids (under 18) and information they can leave on the internet (see COPPA. dont try to read too much into it, it's a really really weird law.
