Good work, LT! I can see the Seyken inspiration in them hehe I think they should stay as x2 zoom, personally. x1 will be so tiny EDIT: OMG MINCHE LIKE THPS3! That game was amazing!

The simplicity of the FO sprites was what I enjoyed a lot about FO. I think you maybe trying to put in too much detail of arms and legs. That is why I don't play the current "free rpgs". They also remind me of the characters in a game called "my brute".
Ie: games with those type of sprites i've avoided.

I agree. Keep the simplicity, don't try to over think the animations and whatnot.
The sprites look great, which is good, but don't over think them. I'd go play WoW or something if I wanted super fancy realistic whatnot of whatnot. Which I do not.

These sprites are VERY GOOD, specially because there are mans and womans, which FO didn't had.

Thanks for all the feedback. Keep in mind that it was our goal to create more complex characters (and world) and like Pink said, we won't be recreating FO. We will however take all your comments into consideration as that was one of our reasons to post the sprite!

One of the reasons I played FO and haven't played any other RPG is because I liked the sprites. I'm actually with Acapella and I usually don't play other RPGs for long because of that look. But then again, I'm probably just being a little close-minded The extra detail in these could allow for some pretty cool stuff.

How about a city or village with old FO char like sprites NPCs if it's possible?

How about a city or village with old FO char like sprites NPCs if it's possible? They would have to be original because, as said several times before, we don't have the rights to use FO sprites.

I know this has already been mentioned before, but I like the old FO sprites better than the new one.

The time between updates in the past was long, and these sprites will make it take even longer. Why?
-Detail and quality of each individual sprite
-More frames means larger number of sprites necessary
-More rigorous in determining what goes into the game
This is not necessarily a bad thing, just a statement of fact. In MMOs a large component of the game is exploring new content. If the gap between update is too long, players become disenchanted and leave. Don't set the bar too high for yourself without considering what tradeoffs are really being made. Consider a compromise so that you won't be kicking yourself later.
Sometimes less is more. But not always. Obviously Gamer failed in sifting through a lot of the tacky garbage that made it into the game in a desperate attempt at making cash. Sad, but worth learning from. At the end of the day there are a lot of talented artists around willing to help for free and the amount of work they produce is directly related to the decisions you make right now whether you like it or not. It would probably be foolish to believe there won't be user created content in the new game.
That's just my general thoughts on things; I hope it's a useful criticism.

It won't really, FO took long inbetween updates because we had essentially no direction or input from the top.
And only a small part of an update will be related to adding new sprites =)
Don't worry, we are considering these things, I had a big chat with LT the other day about how to make sure we don't have loads of people waiting at the 'experience wall' before we can release the next area.
