What i think would be very, very cool is for all enemies to have a (small) chance of droping a sort of gem, orb or whatever that would allow you to "enchant" or upgrade your armour and weapons. These gemsorwhatever increase your items by levels. For example, you have a sword, you apply a gem to it, and you get sword+1, with increased stats. They also have a chance of failure, in which case depending on your item's current level, it can lower its level by one or all the way back to zero. Weak monster can have very low chances of dropping them, and stronger monsters have a slightly higher drop rate, but still low in order to make these rare items. Well thats my humble sugestion and i really can't wait to see this game finished

Yep but rather than lowering its stats/level maybe just that it failed?

Even if they are rare, you still could farm any amount you want, and level all your equipment up a lot. It's an RPG, so you could raise your success chance with an ability (or otherwise that's unfair and grindy. You've got no feel of controling the process), and Also, like Acapella said, nobody would use this to enchant their high-level equips if there is a chance to downgrade an item.

But if it worked, you would have even higher level equipment.

But if it worked, you would have even higher level equipment. But if it didn't, you'd have not-such-high-level equipment. Too risky.

for people who want to be the best, it might be something they are willing to risk.

Eh, luck based vs skill based things are really unappealing and annoying mechanics. Worse than micropayments imo.

I think that's just a mechanic to get best of the best items. you know, with skill you can get the best stuff, but if you have currency and luck then you gamble for even better, 1% if you will. it's not a must, just something for players who want it, and also a nice way to keep items in circulation

yea, and there is also always the possibility of like a skill that increases the chance of success.

I think this is a nice thought, if it's not too easy to weaken your upgrades. For example +1 could be 100% success rate, then it could slowly downgrade each level after, like +2 can be 95% success. They could max at around +12 or so.
Just my suggestions, thanks.

I played another game once where you could only upgrade normal items, and you would be guaranteed at least one upgrade with smaller and smaller chances of getting more/better upgrades. So basically you would upgrade as many normal items as you could to get the best items

If the item that you want to upgrade fails and your item will be a lesser item, will we be able to use it for a lower lvl too? If not craftin will become a coin drain and mats will go OP. The crafting and mining skilled players will be happy but the ppl who want to fight, either PvP or questing for the good story line, willbe the lesser happy players. I think we should realy over think this to make it a more balanced thing.
