I agree with LT on just having the outfit adapt to each gender, that way say you get a rare drop and it was not your gender, that would be depressing ;-;

say you get a rare drop and it was not your gender, that would be depressing ;-; And what about someone selling clothing to another gender character? You can't really display how an item looks without using a medium of some sort, a model, if you will; and who's to say they won't run off with the item anyway? I think every item in-game should be wearable by both genders. Of course, applying this would mean more work for everybody else, so... just a suggestion, then.

I think it may also be a good idea (if easy coding) to make an npc where you can just change the gender of your character. Maybe there could be a small fee. Maybe we could make transgender clothing! and for all of LGBT too!

I really think everything should be unisex by default. It just circumvents so many issues and makes the art development easier. I'd rather have quality over quantity this time, and I feel that the artists' time would be better spent just improving the existing design than making a separate one for the other gender. Of course, there could be some outfits that are gender-specific (dresses and ties, for example). Most items are not dresses or ties, however, and I don't see why there should be a distinction between female and male armor.

I think we have decided on having a single item with both a male and female sprite. There wouldn't however be like an item called "Blue Evening Wear" with the male being a tux and female being a cocktail dress. Instead we would have two separate items, a tux with a M/F and a dress with M/F. The important part of having both M/F, is that they have different body types.
