I never understood why people are really eager to want beta test/play the game (especially if it's a paid game, like a lot of devs are doing now 'early access'). Everyone who wants to play beta needs to understand that it's an unfinished product and that you're supposed to go through scenarios, and report tons of bugs. I'm sure there will be a post explaining all of that when the time has come, but I've seen it happen couple of times, where people rush to unfinished game, then don't like it and stop playing.

Thank you for emphasizing this. I am reading all these "dibs" posts and the whole time I'm wondering if these players understand it is a bug finding period where you attempt to clean the game up before a release. It is true that you get to be on the game first and can play around with the new features. However, the beta phase is for the greater good of a server where bugs, glitches, and issues are reported in grave detail to developers so these issues can be resolved is a hasty manner. I'm glad you are on the game team minche

I think it sounds good for beta testers get a reward for testing the game just like in FO with the alpha halo.

I think its worth noting that Alpha players in FO did not know that they would get a halo, and did the testing because they wanted to. Gamer gave out the halos as a show of appreciation after the Alpha period was over!

If they plan to give something to those who tested the game, I think they should give (if outfits are available right away) an outfit piece, so they aren't advantaged with items with bonuses. Just something visual to remember who tested the game in the past and to be proud of.

lol. Maybe just the equivalant of an SSC? oh on that note could I work on my ssc now, what standards have to be met? That seems quite...well, too much really. Aside from not being 100% sure that SSC's will be a thing, we don't have the art style totally down yet, nor have we had a discussion about what players would be allowed to get ingame. That whole convo is way, waaaaay down the queue of things to do

Well, I do admit it would be pretty cool to have a cosmetic item for awhile, I really love playing Betas. I love finding things like this is OP, or this is UP, this is really too hard or too easy. Things like that, I'm getting into game dev myself, and it really just pleases me to beta test games, find out the kinks. Although I'm actually not experienced myself yet, still just getting into it recently.

For now the important game mechanics are what needs to be 100% built and tested : Walking, fighting, leveling, story progression, stat distribution, teleporting, among other simple things. Remember, FO wasn't built in a day, it was built over years and years of testing/reworking, rinse, repeat. I'll be happy to see a "Tutorial" island with max level of 5 or something, I don't care.
Right now I'm struggling with finding a new game that matches the delight that the FO game had. If this new game can capture that same, simplistic, delight, I will be pleased, no matter how you go about achieving that.
Coding and stuff is what I enjoy of course. Gotta understand there's a lot of back mechanics to a game. Security and what have you. Takes time. Sometimes a lot of the "development" might be back-ended things to secure the game and whatnot, or improve the quality of the game, or whatnot.

obviously claims can't be made on beta slots, but I'd enjoy it, I'm doing Games Development at College, so a beta is a good way of seeing bugs, glitches and early concepts first hand, it'll give me a idea on what to expect in the future.
